Mbadi willing to resign as ODM National Chairman

DM National Chairman John Mbadi has said that he was willing to quit his position in the party since he has not been in good terms with a section of the party leadership in the recent past.

Mbadi who spoke to Journalists at Parliament buildings yesterday said that he had already informed Party Leader Raila Odinga on his position on the matter and that it was only that he did not have a potential Vice Chairperson to hand over that he was still in office.

The Nominated MP said that he was not out to run away from his responsibilities and that he would like to see proper succession in the party leadership structure take place and that he was tired of being blamed over the Azimio Coalition performance in the 2022 general election.

“I have served the ODM Party as the National Chairman with dedication for the last nine years let those who are salivating for the seat know that I am willing to serve the party as an ordinary member, I do not have to be here if my services are no longer required,” said Mbadi.

The ODM National Chairman has been missing in the Azimio La Umoja rallies addressed by Raila in Nairobi City accusing some politicians he did not mention for not wanting to see him in the meetings but were now raising questions over his non- appearance.

Mbadi was non-committal about attending the rallies saying that he had other avenues of addressing matters to do with the party and it does not necessarily have to be in areas where some people did not want to see him yet he has sacrificed a lot for the opposition party.
