The APC Vice Presidential Candidate, Senator Kashim Shettima cast his vote at the Shetimari unit 001 of Lamisula Jabbamari ward in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital at exactly 11:50am.

Shettima, who spoke to newsmen shortly after casting his votes urged residents to exercise patients with the process and to do the needful by electing officers that will promote their interest and bring development closer home.

He, however, expressed concern over the late arrival of election materials at his unit when he earlier arrived at the unit around 9:30am for the exercise.

Shettima, who described the election as free and fair in Borno State said voters are casting their votes without intimidation or harassment to elect the person of their choice.

Speaking on the late arrival of material he said, Nigerians should understand the fact of the moment, stressing that he did not believe contrary insinuations when he earlier visited his polling unit.

“As a leader, we have to look at this from a different angle. I believe INEC has done its best and I have cast my vote now. Our people are also casting their votes peacefully.” Shettima said

Speaking on his confidence in the election, Shettima said the APC is going to win this election with margins.

According to him, ” We have work for it and it is going to be a win for us. My principal, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is a man of integrity and he knows his onions. We are going to win but I urged those who will lose today to ensure they put Nigeria first and sheath their sword for peace in our country.”
