The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has rejected the results of the polls in six local government areas (LGAs) of Kogi and demanded their cancellation.
The Kogi PDP agent for the presidential election, Capt. Joe Agada (RTD) announced the party’s decision on Monday shortly after the Collation Officer for Dekina LGA, Prof. Michael Ogirma, submitted the results to the State Collation Officer, Prof. Wahab Egbewale.
Agada made the demand for a cancellation of the results at the State Collation Centre within the INEC Headquarters.
His stern request was reinforced by the agents of NNPP and LP, Mr Sunday Edibo and Idako Emmanuel, respectively.
The PDP agent described the entire results for Dekina as “doctored results” that should be outrightly cancelled by the commission.
“Also doctored are results for Okehi, Okene, Ofu, Omala and Olama-Boro LGAs.
“Sir, I beg to disagree with the Collation Officer for Dekina LGA, because what he just presented were completely “doctored results” that should be rejected and cancelled.
“I want to tell you that because of the political thuggery and violence that greeted Saturday’s presidential and National Assembly elections in Dekina and five other LGAs, no free, fair and credible elections took place.
“We are here today calling on the National Chairman of INEC to use the power vested in him by Section 65 of the Constitution to review such declarations in the six LGAs and declare them invalid.
Edibo of NNPP quickly followed with his objection, saying, “I as the agent of NNPP, is adding our voice to the submission made by the PDP agent and hope that the right thing be done in the spirit of justice and fairness to all.”
Also, the LP agent called for the cancellation of the six LG results submitted to the commission.
