Europa League: Nigeria forward Boniface up for Player of the Week award

Union Saint Gilloise striker, Victor Boniface has been nominated for the UEFA Europa League Player of the Week award.

Boniface scored twice in the Belgian Pro League side’s 3-3 draw against Bundesliga club, Union Berlin on Thursday night.

The 22-year-old netted the modest outfit’s first and third goal in the keenly contested encounter.

The Nigerian has so far scored five goals in the UEFA Europa League this season.

It is the first time Boniface has been nominated for the individual accolade this season.

Manchester United midfileder, Bruno Fernandes; Roma forward, Paulo Dybala; and Bayer Leverkusn’s Edmond Tapsoba are the other players nominated for the award.
