You Are Responsible For Your Defeat Not Peter Obi, Ugwuanyi – Nnaji Fires Nnamani

Published:

Ray Nnaji, a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, has asked former Enugu State Governor Chimaroke Nnamani to blame himself for his senatorial election defeat.

Remember that Nnamani claimed that the Enugu State Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, contributed to his defeat and that the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, was playing divisive politics.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the former Commissioner in the state during the Nnamani administration urged his former principal to refrain from accusing Ugwuanyi, Obi, and the PDP.

He also advised the Enugu lawmaker to maintain decorum, saying that his outburst would expose him to further ridicule and portray him as someone who has no shame.

Nnaji stated that he would have been surprised if Nnamani had won the election, emphasizing that Nnamani was defeated even before the first ballot was cast.

He stated:  You should understand the kind of person Nnamani is. His failure is making him feel bad. Unfortunately, he failed to realise that he failed even before the election. I thought he would have made reference to me because I was the one that started the process that led to his expulsion. He had failed before anything. He went into the election without any platform, because the party did not have a candidate for Enugu East senatorial election.

He is supposed to thank Ugwuanyi for bringing him back after being in limbo for a long time. A second opportunity was given to him and he did not utilise it well. He should desist from these attacks, as they tend to destroy him more if there is any credibility left in him.
