The striker has maintained his impressive form for Steve Cooper’s side in the current campaign.
The 26-year-old has scored three goals and provided two assists for the Reds this term.
Aina, who joined Nottingham Forest on free transfer this summer, listed Awoniyi as one of the difference-makers at the club.
“First and foremost, everyone’s key in the team and everyone’s got a role to play,” Aina told the club’s official website.
“There will be moments in the season where we’ll look to someone and we’ve got a few of them in our team, from Morgan, Callum, Anthony and Taiwo.”
Nottingham Forest will face Brentford in their next Premier League game on Sunday.
