Against Brighton in midweek, Pochettino’s backline included Marc Cucurella at right-back, with Axel Disasi and Levi Colwill acting as a new central pairing, Ben Chilwell played his first game of the season at left-back.
However, Thiago Silva is expected to return to the team.
The midfield is no longer a concern for Pochettino despite missing summer signing Romero Lavia. Enzo Fernandez and Conor Gallagher were rested for most of the game against the Seagulls, so there is an option to rotate Lesley Ugochukwu out at Craven Cottage.
