The former Benfica star hesitated a bit but named France’s Kylian Mbappe.
Fernandez said: “It’s very hard to say, but I think Kylian Mbappe is that type of player.”
Fernandez and Mbappe faced off in the final of the 2022 FIFA World Cup tie between Argentina and France.
Argentina eventually won 4-2 on penalties after an enthralling 3-3 draw after extra time.
Mbappe single-handedly kept France in the match with a heroic hat-trick, while Messi’s brace and Angel Di Maria’s goal put La Albiceleste in a strong position.
