Niger Tornadoes head coach, Hamza Abarah said being disciplined and tactically focused was the secret of the team’s victory against Rivers United.
The Ikon Allah Boys defeated the former Nigeria Premier Football League champions by a lone goal at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna on Sunday.

The win was Niger Tornadoes first in four years against Rivers United in all competitions.
Abarah revealed that the team arrived at Kaduna early to strategies for the encounter against the Pride of Rivers.
“Rivers United are a strong and continental team, so we had to be disciplined and tactically focused to be able to get the win,” he told the club’s media.
“We came to Kaduna to restrategise on how to approach the game.
“It was a big win for us and a reward for hardwork, because we had sleepless nights after the defeat to Abia Warriors in the first match.”
