Injury boost for Man Utd! Andre Onana set to make immediate return after withdrawing from Cameroon duty with groin problem

Published:

Despite picking up a groin injury while on international duty, Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana is set to be back for their trip to Everton.

Onana had to be replaced after experiencing discomfort while in the goal for Cameroon during their 3-0 victory over Mauritius on Friday; his substitution was explained as a precaution.

After missing Cameroon’s tie with Libya, Onana returned to Manchester on Sunday and practised twice with United. Onana is anticipated to be cleared to play at Goodison Park on Sunday, and backup Altay Bayindir is prepared to step in if necessary.

Erik Ten Hag is likely to be thankful that the injury to his number one wasn’t anything too serious as the club continues to go through a cluster of injuries. After suffering injuries, Christian Eriksen and striker Rasmus Hojlund were forced to leave the Denmark camp. Meanwhile, midfielder Casemiro will be out until January along with defenders Jonny Evans, Lisandro Martinez, and Tyrell Malacia.
