Sport Rangers fined N1m by NPFL board for violent conduct

Rangers have been fined N1m following their violent reaction to provocation from Abia Warriors during their matchday 10 encounter on Sunday.

The Nigeria Premier Football League stated that the gesture was an act of misconduct under the league rules.

Some of the Flying Antelopes officials were seen on footage in a free for all fight against an Abia Warriors official at the Umuahia Township Stadium.

Rangers have also been ordered to identify and produce the officials involved in the act of misconduct for further sanctions.

The Enugu club has been warned that a recurrence of the same act of misconduct will result in severe sanctions.

Rangers have 48 hours from the date of notice to appeal or accept the sanctions.
