The reason for Rio Ferdinand’s mysterious exit from the live broadcast of Paris Saint Germain’s clash with Newcastle United has been revealed.
According to the SKY BLAST TV, Manchester United legend Ferdinand was forced to leave the live Champions League match coverage on Tuesday evening due to illness. TNT Sports did not explain the reasons behind Ferdinand’s shock exit during the 1-1 draw at the Parc des Princes, other than a short statement from presenter Laura Woods, who claimed it was due to “unforeseen circumstances” at the time.
The former England international is now set to return to his punditry duties for Manchester United’s clash against Galatasaray on Wednesday evening, after returning to his hotel to rest.
The report goes on to state that Ferdinand is feeling better following his early exit in Paris, with the former United defender set to jet into Istanbul to provide analysis on the must-win clash for Erik ten Hag’s men.
Speaking at the time of Ferdinand’s mysterious exit, Laura Woods said: “Rio would be here to chat about Manchester United now, but we had to let him go [due to] unforeseen circumstances. He is OK. Don’t worry.”
