The Spain international right full-back had to be replaced at half-time against Granda as Carlo Ancelotti slotted in Lucas Vazquez in the right-back position.
After carrying out tests, the club, on Monday, confirmed that the player has an injury to the soleus muscle in his left leg. ESPN later reported that Carvajal is likely to be ruled out of action for at least a month.
The official club statement on the player’s injury read, “After the tests carried out on our player Dani Carvajal by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with an injury to the soleus muscle in his left leg. Evolution pending.”
With the 31-year-old ruled out of action now, Los Blancos are currently missing as many as eight players due to injuries. They are currently without key players like Luka Modric, Vinicius Jr. and Eder Militao.
Star midfielder Jude Bellingham also picked up a shoulder injury ahead of the November international break but he has recovered now and was in action at the weekend.
