The Commissioner of Police, CP, Akwa Ibom State Police Command, Waheed Ayilara, has deployed about 2,313 operatives to strategic locations in the state for the Easter celebrations.
The locations include worship centers, motor parks and amusement centers.
In a statement by the Command’s spokesperson, CSP Odiko Macdon on Friday, Ayilara felicitated with the Christian faithful and the Akwa Ibom State Government on the occasion of the 2024 Easter Celebration.
While assuring of adequate security for the celebrations, the CP warned criminal elements to steer clear of the state or face the full wrath of the law if apprehended.

“For a peaceful celebration of the Easter Holidays, the Commissioner of Police has deployed two thousand, three hundred and thirteen ( 2,313 ) Officers and Men of the Command to strategic locations, including worship centers, motor Parks, amusement Centers,, etc for the purpose of providing topnotch security before, during and after the Easter celebrations.
“The CP, while thanking God for the prevailing peace in the State, congratulated the Government of Pastor Umo Bassey Eno for the developmental strides.
“He particularly prayed for the peace and progress of Akwa Ibom State and called on the good People of the State to remain steadfast in the pursuit of peace, unity and progress of the State.
“The CP is clear on the evil machinations of criminal elements. He has reminded them to leave the State as there will be no hiding place for them,” parts of the statement said.
