Man fined N100,000 by Bauchi court after sodomising 12-year-old boy

Justice Mu’azu Abubakar of the Bauchi State High Court on Tuesday sentenced a 39-year-old man, Sa’idu Mohammed to 14 years imprisonment for sodomizing a 12-year-old boy.

Justice Abubakar, however, gave the convict an option of a N100,000 fine.

The convict had earlier pleaded with the judge to temper justice with mercy.

Earlier, the Prosecution Counsel, Mr S.M. Toro, informed the court that the convict on June 16, 2022, lured the victim to a river in Yelwa community and sodomized him.

The offence, he said, contravened the provisions of Section 10 and is punishable under Section 11 of the anti-Kidnapping, theft of cattle and Rape Special Provision Laws of Bauchi State B.S.L.N. No. 8 of 2007.
